About The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner
Glycolic acid is the smallest of the alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). It gently loosens the dead surface cells that make skin look dull and feel rough, so skin looks smoother and more even over time.
This toner is one of our most reordered products. Most customers use it two or three evenings a week rather than every day.
What it helps with

Who it suits
Normal, combination and oily skin. If your skin is sensitive, dry or already irritated, start once or twice a week, or choose a gentler acid such as Lactic Acid 5% + HA.
How to use
- Use in the evening on clean, dry skin.
- Soak a cotton pad and sweep it over your face, avoiding the eyes and lips. Do not rinse.
- Follow with a hydrating serum and moisturiser.
- Wear sunscreen every morning, as acids make skin more sensitive to the sun.
Good to know: Do not use on the same night as retinol or other strong acids. A mild tingle is normal; stop using it if you feel burning or see redness that doesn’t settle.

ITS lifesaver
Ok, so I decided to give this toner another try after unsuccessfully having any results. What was I thinking NOT researching this product thoroughly??
So working in restaurants means the climate varies a lot. My skin has gone through one of the worst breakouts and dullness I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. My dandruff has gotten worse and my feet are quite literally scratching holes in my socks. Not to mention how much I literally stink of sweat.
Apparently, the toner becomes virtually USELESS when coming in contact with water. I massage my scalp with the toner 15 minutes before washing, poof. I haven’t had dandruff since. So after every shower, I throughly wipe myself dry. Then on goes the toner under my armpits, my legs, face and feet. Leave them on for at least 5 minutes (this is a CRUCIAL step so let it sit before applying any moisturiser). Then comes the regular routine.
My skin has been glowing ever since, and I’ve never had such supple, glowy and smooth skin before in my life. Thank you Ordinary 😍❤️

Best Toner Ever!
I usually hate using Toners and have avoided them for years after trying many different brands which all made me break out with pimples, made my skin feel like it’s burning or made my skin red and sensitive. I don’t know why I tried this toner but I purchased it randomly one day, and all I can say is that it is the best toner I’ve ever used. I have been using it for a month now, I have not had any pimples, my skin feels firmer, my dehydration lines are disappearing, and it gives a nice slight golden glow to your skin when you apply it. I don’t necessarily need to use a toner everyday but I enjoy using it so much.

I started working out a few months ago and no matter what I did, I was ultra stinky after my elliptical sessions. I read on a website that toners with acid can help a lot–apply it once a week in areas that sweat and you’ll be happy with the results since it helps odor control A LOT. I bought this 2 months ago. I use it 3 times a week with a daily facial cleanser. I use the daily cleanser in the morning by itself. Then in the evening with the toner. I leave the toner on overnight. My skin is shiny, brighter & glowing. I use the toner with my fingers. You use less product than using a round cotton pad. I bought the big bottle. It’s going to last me forever. I have oily skin. This helps keep it less oily. It’s very strong. I use it every other day. I use it at night time. I wash it out in the morning. My skin has been lighter, brighter & less dark scars. My dark scars have been fading.

I’ve been using the 100ml bottle for almost two months now, and honestly, my skin looks better. I have oily skin, and this glycolic acid toner has really helped with texture and dullness. I use it at night a few times a week. There’s a slight tingle when I apply it, but nothing uncomfortable. I wait a bit before moisturizing, and I always wear sunscreen the next morning (a must!). Good quality at a great price point. Product came sealed, unused, unopened. I use my clean hands to apply the product, be wary not to use in any open wounds otherwise it will sting. Also only apply during nighttime to avoid making skin too sensible to sunlight. It has no fragrance yet it has a slight herbal scent? Once it dries it no longer smells. Gave it 5 stars because after a month of use it has helped me with my skin’s texture.

I decided to buy this glycolic acid to add to my routine for my keratosis pilaris. I think that after a month of constant use (2-3x per week) I’m starting to see some results. I can’t say it’s gone but I do see improvement. Fair to say I’m also using an exfoliating body wash + urea lotion so it might be the combination of all products. I like that this is lightweight, and not oily at all. It absorbs really fast, once I pour some over my arms I quickly massage them and it’s gone – all absorbed. Doesn’t leave my skin sticky. I’m hoping to see more results in the upcoming months. I do believe it’s a good product for the value, I still have around 75-80% of the product after a month – month and a half of use.
